NTF Badly Drawn Horse Notes: 10th – 16th May
The flat game cranked up another octave or two last week, with the Dante meeting at York taking centre stage from Wednesday to Friday, closely followed by some Group 1 action at Newbury on Saturday…
The Dante meeting is always a decent meeting to pour over once the 3-days are safely tucked away in the form book, in my case it’s a decent meeting to source some ‘Badly Drawn Horses‘ to stick in the notebook…
Indeed this week’s full BDH Notes that were sent to NTF members on Sunday evening mostly consisted of horses that ran at York (you can pick up the full copy of the notes here)…
The horse I’m sharing here on the Free NTF Blog, however, is NOT one of the York horses…
I’ll get to that in a minute…
First… just a quick thanks to those of you that messaged me after the win of CARAWAY at Thirsk on Saturday… I fired back up the Free Weekend Trainer Angles email last week and the William Haggas 3yo was flagging up at me on THREE separate angles that I have plugged into my databases… so she was a relatively ‘easy’ one for me to put up as the horse to highlight in the free email… and the filly ran out a comfortable winner of the 1m4f handicap at 3pm on the Thirsk card, returning at the tasty odds of 13/2 (BFSP 8.18)…
I think I managed to reply to all of you that messaged (great to hear so many of you had a dabble on the filly 😎) but If I managed to miss replying to you, then apologies (but thanks for taking the time to email 😀)…

Now for this week’s Badly Drawn Horse… from last Tuesday’s Beverley action…
BADLY DRAWN HORSE
12th May – Beverley
4:00 – Class 5 Handicap over 5f (10 runners)
MISS BRAZEN (M Easterby)
Finished 3rd | Drawn in stall 8 (Q3 of draw)
Q3 & Q4 in Beverley 5f Hcps of 9-12 runners struggle to win regularly (6% S/R – 34% below exp)… the first & second home here were drawn in stalls 4 & 3 and they had the advantage of a bottom half draw on their side…
This 6yo mare found herself out wide and chasing the leaders from a high(ish) draw, in a race that suited those coming from off the pace and from a lower draw… as such it’s not hard to mark up this effort on a couple of angles (draw and race positioning). Those that finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th & 6th all raced either held up or in midfield and all bar one of them (the 6th home) were drawn lower than MISS BRAZEN in her stall 8 starting position, and this Hd & Hd third from the Mick Easterby trained mare really was a noteworthy performance.
She’s handicapped to be winning at present, running here off OR 70, and she’s worth keeping on side whilst in her current form as April to July is her prime month period…
I have Prime Conditions for her as…
PC = Turf races on Flat or Slightly-Und tracks | OR 75 or less | Apr-July = 5/12, 4p – all 5 career wins

The BDH horses posted here on the NTF blog are taken from the full Badly Drawn Horse Guide that NTF Members receive every week as part of their full NTF subscription… when any of the noted BDH Horses runs next I highlight them to members so they don’t miss out…
I source, fine-tune and highlight all the vital Badly Drawn Horses to follow… so YOU don’t have to!
