2025 Glorious Goodwood Notes: NTF 5 to follow…

Glorious Goodwood is now firmly logged in the form book for another year…

Plenty of punting ups and downs over the five-days… and even more ups and downs on the going descriptions! Wildly swinging from quick ground to testing ground… and then back again… sometimes in the course of a day 🫠🤷

Glorious Goodwood is always a great meeting to pick apart, once the dust (or mud 🤨) has settled, and take a proper dig around in the results and replays to look for future profits…

I’ve just posted my ‘Glorious Goodwood Notes‘ to full NTF members…

13-pages stacked full of notes, angles, pointers and prime condition horses for members to profit from in the coming weeks and months…

Below are five horses from that deep set of notes… five horses that will hopefully pull in some profits before this flat season is locked away for the year…

Glorious Goodwood 2025: NTF Five to Follow

📆 Tuesday 29th July

⭕ 3.45 Rewards Shaker Handicap – Class 2 Handicap – 5f (3yo+)

Race Note: This sprint played strongly in favour of those drawn in the top half of the draw… the first 3 home were drawn 14+, as were 5 of the first 6 home… and only 1 horse drawn in single figures finished in the first 10 places…

🏇 12th – ROSARIO

Drawn in stall 1 and he essentially had no chance of getting involved from there… since winning over this CD in May he’s now been done dirty by the draw on 3 of his 4 starts and he’s essentially been dropped back down the weights off the back of some down the field efforts, most of them the result of being given no chance from his draw, and he now finds himself on a mark below the one he won off in May (and was dropped a further 2lbs to OR 91 for this run)… I have PC for him as… 5f Turf races | May-Oct | OR 94 or less = 0131 (2/4, 1p – both career wins)… the 0 being this run where he was screwed by the draw… he could pop up somewhere at a decent price (if given a chance with a decent draw)…

📆 Wednesday 30th July

⭕ 1.20 Post Winners Handicap – Class 2 – 1m4f (3yo)

🏇 4th – CAPE BRETON

This was plenty more competitive than the 4-runner C4 handicap the Frankel gelding won at Salisbury LTO, but he ran well enough without having a serious answer to the 3 that finished ahead of him when they knuckled in to fight for the win… it’s worth keeping him on the radar though as Ralph Beckett does have some solid next time out stats with similar handicappers he runs at Glorious Goodwood… R Beckett | Turf Hcps | 3yo & 4yo’s | top 7 finish (beaten 15L or less) in a 3yo or 3yo+ Hcp at Glorious Goodwood LTO = (since 2014) 7/16 | 44% S/R | +£15.33 – W&P 14/16 | 88% S/R (E/W = +£27.97)

📆 Thursday 31st July

⭕ 5.30 World Pool Tote Handicap – Class 3 Handicap – 1m (3yo)

Race Note: This favoured those drawn in the top half of the draw and ridden ‘held-up’ or in ‘midfield’… the first 3 home were all drawn in stall 12+ and ridden ‘held-up’ or in ‘midfield’…

🏇 4th – SEA FORCE

Was drawn in stall 9 and ridden just off the front group and this was probably a decent effort given the less than ideal draw and running style… he also met a small pocket of traffic at a vital stage of the race, which stunted his progress a little… the testing ground also may not have been ideal as he was well-beaten on Soft on his racecourse debut last season and his form since then has been on Good or Good to Firm… form of 2213 (1/4, 2p) on Good and Good to Firm… all in all there was enough in this effort to suggest he’s one to keep on the radar going forward and he should still have more to offer in handicap company, with better ground than this likely proving to be ideal… he was shifted up 1lb to OR 89 for this and that’s a mark that should still be below the ceiling of his abilities…

📆 Friday 1st August

⭕ 2.30 Coral Golden Mile – Class 2 Handicap – 1m (3yo+)

🏇 15th – FANTASTIC FOX

Was parked out wide in this in stall 13 (non-runner adjusted) and never managed to land a blow from there… he’s been slowly creeping back down the weights recently, without running all that bad, and he raced here off OR 94, which is his highest winning mark and only 2lbs below his last winning mark (and was dropped 2lb for this run to OR 92, taking him to his last winning mark), and he could be of interest if they lower sights to a class 3… he’s now 0/27 at Class 2 level, with all 5 of his wins coming at C3 level or less, and he’s worth looking out for under the following… C3 or less | OR 94 or less | 1m-1m0.5f = 11101133 (5/8, 2p – all 5 career wins)

📆 Saturday 2nd August

3.05 Stewards Cup – Class 2 – 6f (3yo+)

Race Note: The near side (high numbers) were favoured in this, with the first 4 home all being drawn in stalls 18+ and the first 6 home all drawn in stalls 11+ (although one of them ran on the far side)… only 3 horses drawn in single figures finished in the first 12 places…

🏇 5th – TWILIGHT CALLS

First home on the far side and the 7yo is well worth marking up on the bare form… not only was he up against a track/draw/pace bias from stall 11, the Good to Soft ground also wouldn’t have been ideal (now 0/6, 0p on G/S or softer) and undulating tracks probably don’t play much to his strengths… it’s been a long time since he visited the winners enclosure but this was only his 6th start for the Richard Spencer yard and he’s now only 2lb above his last and highest win mark of OR 94 (he was dropped 1lb to OR 97 for this run)… he’s worth looking out for under the following… C2 or less | Good+ | Flat/Slightly-und tracks | DSLR 14+ = 161122 (3/6, 2p – all 3 career wins)

Football time…

Already?!?

Yes, somehow the weekly grind of domestic football is pretty much upon us again…

Some of the top leagues have already clicked into first gear (the Scottish leagues count in the ‘top’ leagues… yeah?!?) and heads are already beginning to look towards all the usual ‘Fantasy Football’ type of games…

I generally have a (hugely unsuccessful) dabble in the official Premier League Fantasy Football game… but in truth it’s a damn hard thing to make any sort of impact in… and by hard I mean borderline impossible!

So I had a look about for something different… something a bit more ‘winnable’…

I’ve been aware of ‘The Footy Comp‘ for a few seasons as I know the people behind it and like what they do… they also run the well-established ‘The Inside Man‘ football service… plenty of you will probably have heard of The Inside Man, it’s been on the go for around 10-years and it’s a football betting service that remains consistently popular…

The Footy Comp isn’t a Betting Service… nor is it a Fantasy Football competition… it’s more a ‘Football Prediction Game‘ where you take on fellow punters in a league style format…

And your chances of winning a prize are a hell of a lot greater than in most Fantasy Football/Football Prediction Game type competitions!

Take a look for yourself on the following link…

>>>The Footy Comp

It kicks-off this weekend…

Cheers – Ben (NTF)
