Weekend Handicap Sleeper Notes: 10th, 11th & 12th October
Time for the LAST set of NTF Handicap Sleeper Notes for the 2025 flat season… with four horses from the weekend York action for you to slide into your notebook/trackers…
Champions Day at Ascot this weekend (18th of October) is the final day on the NTF Summer Service and then I’ll hit ‘recharge mode’ and give my brain a bit of a rest for a bit…
Still time, however, for one final bunch of NTF Handicap Sleeper notes… so let’s get to it…
Weekend Handicap Sleeper Notes 10th, 11th & 12th
📆 Friday 10th October
⭕ 1:30 York – 1m Class 2 Handicap
🏇 5th – SILVER SWORD
A solid effort from the 5yo here, who was running from a mark 3lbs below his highest win mark and just 1lb above his last winning mark (he was dropped 1lb to OR 89 for this run)… the ground is in his favour right now, with his 4 turf wins all coming on Good or Good to Firm, and if the ground stays on the quick(ish) side then there should be winnable openings for him in the coming weeks… I have his PC as… OR 93 or less | LH track | fields of 9+ = 540111212 (4/9, 3p – all 4 career wins)… his Meydan form is included in that form line…
📆 Saturday 11th October
⭕ 2:05 York – 1m2.5f Class 2 Handicap
🏇 7th – TAKE HEART
A bit more like it from the Dark Angel gelding, for all he never really looked like getting involved in the business end of this handicap… he was again running off a break longer than ideal (DSLR 42 here) and he’s a much better horse off breaks of 25-days or less, with his DSLR splits now reading… DSLR 25 or less = 3/6 compared to DSLR 26+ = 0/12, 2p… and hopefully this run will sharpen him up nicely and they can get him out within the next 3-weeks or so… I have PC for him as… DSLR 25 or less | OR 95 or less = 1511 (3/4, 2p – all 3 career wins)… he was running here off OR 90, 5lbs below his last and highest win mark of OR 95, and he’s definitely handicapped to be winning right now (he was dropped 2lbs for this run to OR 88)…
💤
⭕ 3:15 York – 6f Class 2 Handicap
🏇 5th – KING’S LYNN
This sprint favoured those drawn in single figures, with 6 of the first 7 home drawn in stalls 8 or less… KINGS LYNN broke from stall 11 and was the first home of those drawn in double figures and it’s well worth marking his effort up a little on the bare form… the 8yo was running here off a mark of OR 89 (went down 1lb to OR 88 for this run) and although only 1 of his previous 5 career wins have come in a handicap (off OR 85) he has placed on numerous occasions off marks of OR 92+ and as high as OR 100, and he is currently well-handicapped on his very best form… he’s worth looking out for under his PC of… Group 2 or less | Flat or Slightly Und Turf tracks | DSLR 12-42 | Carrying 9-06 or less = 506137261121121 (5/14, 4p – all 5 career wins)… his form is a bit more sporadic these days but this effort from a tricky draw shows he’s still capable when he gets his PC to shoot for…
💤
⭕ 4:30 York – 2m0.5f Class 4 Handicap
🏇 8th – ZIMMERMAN
The ground staying ‘Good’ at York went against the 6yo here and he’s now 0/15, 1p on Good or quicker ground… it was the first time he had raced on Good ground when all his other PC conditions were ticked, but ultimately he just found things a little too lively underfoot and just couldn’t fully let himself down in the closing stages… he’s running well enough right now, however, and he is handicapped to be winning… running here off OR 67, 9lbs below his last winning mark and 10lbs below his highest winning mark (he went down 1lb to OR 66 for this effort)… and he’s worth keeping on the radar for getting a bit of cut underfoot and his PC to shoot for… G/S or softer | C4 or less Hcps on LH tracks | 1m4f+ | OR 77 or less | CPs or NO Headgear = 11111 (5/5 – all 5 career wins)…
📆 Sunday 12th October

In other news…
…and that’s me done on the free NTF Blog for a bit now…
Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the Handicapper Sleeper Notes over the past few months and have managed to land on some profitable plays from them…
There’s still some flat action left before things turn fully National Hunt/All-Weather over the winter months, so there’s every chance some of the Handicap Sleepers noted this season will rock up under their Prime Conditions (and hopefully get the job done at decent odds 🤞)… so keep your eyes peeled…
…and if you’ve not slipped them into a tracker tool yet I, as always, thoroughly recommend the following sites…
